Walgreens Pharmacy Senior's Day is the first Tuesday of every month in-store and the first week of the month online, so those 55+ can enjoy up to 20% off in-store or online on the items they need most. Details here. Seniors-only hour is every Tuesday from 8:00 - 9:00am.
Elder Care Services Office is currently open. They have funding to assist seniors and vulnerable
adults with basic needs during the COVID-19 crisis. Some of this funding has been used for prepared meals. These meals are included in the Get Me to Monday food bag, and are available to seniors and persons with disabilities. These food bags provide 3 to 4 days of food. They are providing assessments, referrals, follow-up, and all regular services by phone. Assistance may include food, groceries, prescriptions, basic essentials and more. Adult protective services can meet people at home if they meet certain criteria such as physical abuse. Call the Agency at (815)-758-6550. In person appointments will be available soon.
Voluntary Action Center (VAC) Providing services remotely. Pick-ups must be scheduled via phone. Call VAC at
(815)-758-3932. Providing transportation for seniors to appointments and grocery stores.
DeKalb County Grow Mobile has regular monthly pop-ups with pre-boxed food packages distributed
Community Gardens safely. Current schedule is listed here. Genoa Area Community Food Hub is open to
residents of Genoa/Kingston. For Genoa Area Food Hub call 815-761-7313 or visit their
Facebook page. DCCG is working with VAC and Elder Care Services to make home
deliveries of grocery items for prepared meals to housebound seniors. For Seniors please

Family Service Agency:
Community Action Program Providing services remotely. Our Family Support Specialists are continuing case
management with clients via phone and email. We continue to provide assistance in
any way we are able and provide the community with all available resource information.
We will continue to update the COVID-19 resource guide as we receive updated

Senior Services and Senior Services is completing regular wellness check-ins to offer a friendly visit as well as Senior Connections making sure clients know of available resources. In partnership with the NI Food Bank we are hosting a senior food distribution the on-4th Tuesday of every month. We are hosting virtual workshops\programs- Creative Writing, Book Club, Bingo, Trivia, a Reminisce Group an Intergeneration Pen Pal Program, a Vet-to-Vet Cafe’, and so much more. We are also meeting in person at our Sycamore location for walking, chair yoga and chair exercise. For more information call (815) 758-8616 #1 for Club 55.
